The Ups and Downs of Progress

Hey, just wanted to pop in to tell you that you are not alone in gaining weight over the course of 2020. You're not alone in failed diets and broken routines. It's been a tough year with not just the pandemic but changes in countries all around the world trying to reluctantly squeeze into a new reality. We have people fighting for freedom and justice here and abroad. We've lost people both the humble ones in our personal lives as well as celebrities who we've looked up to. With the news buzzing noisily every day it's no wonder that a "normal" is hard to grasps leaving a fitness routine even more difficult to implement.

Progress isn't a linear track. More often than not, there are slopes drops and kicks. Fitness is meant to be in your life to help create and maintain a healthy mentality and body. With so many external factors making wellness this year tough for many people, it's no wonder that fitness routines and progress might not be as dramatic as we would like for them to be.

That's okay.

What's important is that you are trying. If it's been a week since you've done a home workout. It's okay - restart. Been eating take-out for the past two weeks? That's okay - start a meal prep tomorrow. 2020 hasn't been like any year so don't compare your performance during it to other years. Celebrate your small victories and your perseverance. You got this, babe.

We hope this was helpful to you! Delta Life Fitness wants to support your mental and physical wellbeing during this global health crisis and we hope that our content has given your day just a little bit more joy. Stay safe and stay healthy!
